I first met Aileen and Grant when we were colleagues at the primary care organisation, Townsville Mackay Medicare Local, where we worked together over a period of 4 years.
At this time, I was the acting manager of the mental health team – a short term role for 12 months to support an organisation transition. When I first met Aileen she was transitioning mental health teams across two sites, 400km apart into one organisational team. The teams were fractured and fatigued from change, however with Aileen’s leadership the teams were provided stability and guidance to navigate the restructure, ultimately forming one dynamic, high functioning service delivery unit.
Before Grant and Aileen relocated to Ireland, I had the role to support the development phase of a youth mental health service in a regional community in Central-north Queensland. The 12-months I spent working directly with Aileen and Grant resulted in one of my biggest growth periods as a leader, I learned what great leadership and professionalism looked in action for Aileen and Grant.
I strongly feel that these opportunities provided me with leadership skills development that have positively assisted me in my personal development as a health leader. I highly recommend Aileen and Grant to other leaders and organisations for a wide variety of consultation and support interventions, including but not limited to coaching, mentoring, leadership and governance training, needs analysis development, change management, and accreditation /standards compliance.
It is a pleasure to write this testimonial for Aileen who I have had the opportunity to work with over the last 3 years.
As Chairman of FirstCare Nursing Home Group, I worked directly with Aileen and appreciated the expertise she provided the Board in her original role as Group Director of Operations. In her new role as a consultant to our organisation she has applied her knowledge across a range of initiatives such as developing and delivering a bespoke Leadership Coaching Program to our senior staff; working with the senior teams on all aspects of COVID 19 Infection Prevention and Control and conducting a strategic Training Needs Analysis for the organisation.
Aileen has a wealth of knowledge and skills spanning corporate and clinical governance that has aided us, as an organisation, and within each of our individual care homes, to achieve our strategic goals stay aligned with our values, and ultimately deliver a service to residents that I, and the team, are proud of.
The outcomes of her efforts have noticeably enhanced and embedded the high standards of care expected across our homes.
I learnt and achieved a huge amount from working with Aileen as my coach. She was able to tailor her techniques to specifically meet my needs and she created a safe and open coaching space in which to deeply explore and share my thoughts, goals, mindsets and behaviours. This helped me immensely both in work and in my private life.
With Aileen acting as my ‘accountability buddy’ I was able to convert my leanings into action and begin to achieve the results I wanted within a very short time. People in my team and family saw and commented on the difference this made for me.
I recommend working with Aileen if you want a caring and trustworthy person who comprehends what you need and will work with you collaboratively; coaching you to achieve your goals.
